“The enemy’s gate is down” is a phrase coined by Orson Scott Card’s Ender Wiggin, as he is thrown into the turbulent world of Battle School, a rotating wheel in space where children from the age of six go to train to combat the alien threat known as the Buggers.
The problem is, not everything is peaceful on Earth in Ender’s Game. Old rivalries between nations are turning into a war that is looking to start as soon as soon as the alien threat is eliminated.
Into all of this come Peter and Valentine Wiggin, two children not chosen for Battle School who also happen to be Ender Wiggin’s siblings, who are trying to broker peace through the nets using fake identities
Ender’s Game is a fantastic book. It gives you a sense of how mature and how childish kids can be at times. For example, towards the end of the book, kids are able to joke at the most serious of times.
I couldn’t really find much wrong with this book, except maybe its length, which could have been a little longer in my opinion, but there is a long string of sequels, so I’m not complaining.
In conclusion, I think everyone should read this book, but only if you want to read something really really good.
